Outlaws rebound to beat undefeated pekin
springfield, il - The Capital City Outlaws eight-man football team won Sunday afternoon, beating the undefeated Pekin Dominators 24-22 at Rotary Park in Springfield.
The win was important for the Outlaws after losing for the first time this season last week to Macomb. Pekin came into today’s game undefeated, having beaten their last opponent 63-0.
“It was a great match-up between 2 of the leagues finest teams” said Outlaws coach Chris Lawson. “We made adjustments during the game that put us on top and received outstanding individual effort that resulted in a victory.”
On defense, David Hall and Steve Fristoe had an interception each and Lex Woolford had 3 sacks. Troy Helton and Jeff Thomas dominated with 12 tackles each.
The Capital City Outlaws is a semi-professional football team with several Springfield area players. Their next game is April 3rd against the Metamora Redbirds at Rotary Park in Springfield.
