Outlaws defense dominates in blowout
springfield, il - The Capital City Outlaws eight-man football team won it’s third game of the season Sunday afternoon, defeating the Farmington Renegades 32-0 at Rotary Park in Springfield.
The Outlaws defense held the Renegades offense to -34 yard rushing and had 8 sacks. Troy Helton had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery while Morris Williams and Mike Dailey had 4 sacks apiece.
On offense, former Southeast High School Quarterback Seth Manning went 7 for 11 passing for 112 yards and 3 touchdowns. Jason Swick had 8 carries for 78 yards and 1 rushing touchdown. Receiver Chad Mileham caught 2 touchdown passes from Manning.
“Our defense really dominated this game and crushed the will of Farmingtons offense to play” said Outlaws coach Chris Lawson. “The offense was hitting on all cylinders in the air and on the ground. It was a great game all around.”
The Capital City Outlaws is a semi-professional football team with several Springfield area players. Their next game is March 20th against the Macomb X-Bombers in Macomb, IL.
